If there is one thing I seriously abhor, is humanity's arrogance; still, it can take so many forms, it becomes increasingly burdensome to tell people about it!
The anthropic principle, amongst theism and other things, is as good a place as any to start, in my opinion, and yet more important than each and every other: why should humanity be the privileged species that makes all of this have profound meaning, when we're nothing other than a speck of cosmic dust and then even less?
Much has been said on the matter, but people miss the obvious facts; philosophy, no matter how great an endeavour it may be, is a serious problem in human logism, as it commonly serves as the basis for nonsense...
Our presence here is no more proof to anything than itself, by all accounts, but how many people would actually feel safe when dealing with things under that premise? Do we not listen to such ramblings as how it would be impossible to be here if all of these things were true? I'm sick and tired, to some extent, at the impossibility of humanity to deal with the world for what it is - a sentiment I'm afraid arose from the mere fact that I cannot keep watching this fumbling and tweetering about, all so very much in vain, with no capacity to make heads or tails out of reality.
And, as they cling to these fables, so do I cling to hope for a place in the world, when we'll have overcome the problems we so desperately avoid facing... Am I in the wrong for hoping so? Perhaps I would have been, were I not trying to make it true...
Thus I live my everyday, ever looking at the moonlit sky...

To make head or tales out of reality...
In my opinion reality should not be categorized, its much to diverse and multifaceted to be “made head or tales out of”. And there is where i agree. Not even do most of the “crowd” whine and run around as if the sky was falling but they do nothing about it, demanding help from authorities(any) and then protest about the authority's control over them. I get FURIOUS! At that attitude, i hate never ending circles, i tend to cut them or change the shape entirely.
As for a place in the world...
In your atheistic preferences, you are not governed by religious impulses, innate guilt and predetermined knowledge of origin/death/afterlife and so on, therefore you make your place in reality. I believe that if you consciously can control your mind, your body and know yourself in all your faults and talents, you , at first, can establish what your reality right now is and then choose to change it.
This can be mistreated as in the use of drugs or even suicide.
Still, to even determine what your reality is, (this might seem uppity) you need to be different from the rest of the sheep, the crowd and the people who gave up their search for a meaning. In short an education, experiences, a deeper understanding of one's own darkness and light, a debating nature, a multitasking mind and disappointment at the fact that the rest of the people don't even bother to think, to debate, to argue, to inquire.
Your choice my friend. Its beautiful and terrible. You either choose to enter the society you live in, as in religion, make a family, work ,raise your kids, follow traditions, your only development of your psyche by whatever the media feed down your throat and all the bla bla of the pre-fed circle of life stuff. You will be harboured and safe, under control.
Or you choose to take a path, any path you pick and stay alone from the society, a member of it, yes, but a “loner”, an oddity, being doomed to see all that they are with just a look at them, doomed to see what they made of this world. Even if you find like minded friends, even a mate, you will be alone in the search for a meaning, for enlightenment and the all what-the-heck-am-i-so-different matter. Even if you find a like minded mate, you should be more intelligent than to think that you are not alone any more. You will Know, you will be aware, self sufficient and free.
One simple question.
If you had the choice would you take the blue pill or the red one. (The Matrix)
But i think i know you enough to know what your choice has been, many many years now.
Be well, at least in looking at the moon, you are not alone.
